Basic Stuff

These help files try to answer questions that we are frequently asked, and there is a list of answers available from the menu above. If this is your first visit, you may find it useful to print this page out and read it off-line, especially if you are visiting via a dial-up modem.

The shopping pages are designed for best viewing on an 800 pixel width screen or larger, but don't forget to maximise the screen otherwise you may not find the input boxes which are on the right hand side of the main shopping page. Again these pages have been designed for Internet Explorer, but work equally well in Netscape, Opera and Firefox which have also been tested.

To get the best use out of the programme, specially if you might want to return at some future time, it is wisest to have cookies enabled because by this means we are able to pre-address the form page for you when you re-visit, so that you do not have to keep filling in your basic information. This does not extend to your credit card details since we believe that this would be a privacy invasion.

We also record on your cookie, the last order that you placed so that if you wish to use the Quick Order entry programme, the page will be ready populated with your last order.

How do I enable cookies ?

To check, or to enable cookies in Internet Explorer, go to the top of the browser window where you will see Tools, - hit that and you will see a dropdown menu - select Internet Options, and in the Option box select the tab Privacy, and from that window - you will see a vertical slider bar which you need to draw down towards the bottom so that cookies become enabled. If you do not see a slider bar on that page, then hit the Advanced button towards the bottom and uncheck the box that says Override automatic cookie handling and then when you hit the OK button, the slider bar will have revealed itself. Having done all that, then hit Apply and all is done. That's it. By the way, cookies are quite harmless beasties and are used by programmers to help you round a site, or - as in this case - to enable the programme to recognise you and to pre-populate a form page to save you having to do it.

The process in Netscape, Opera and Firefox is very similar, so if you get the general gist of the IE method, you should be able to do these.

If your browser is cookie enabled, the next time you visit, the form page will be completed for you without having to enter anything. This will not occur if, a) you are not cookie enabled, b) if you have cleared your cookie folder thinking that this is good house keeping, c) you have a virus or firewall protection screwed down so tightly that it is prohibiting cookies, d) you are using a different computer from the last time you visited, e) you have upgraded your windows version or re-formatted your hard disk or f) you are trying to access the internet through your toaster.

How do I select my items ?

To select your items, type a packet or jar quantity in the input box to the right of the product image, if you later want to de-select it or change the quantity, just delete it, or overtype the new quantity. There is no need to hit a View Shopping Cart button, until you have made all your selections, unless you have used the Search facility to find your product.

When you have completed your selections, hit any one of the View Shopping Cart buttons, or if you have used the Search facility use the Check-out Button, and be directed to the Shopping Cart page where your items will be listed and totalled.

How do I delete, alter or add items to my selection ?

From the Shopping Cart page, if you later want to delete, or alter items, - alter the item quantity or quantities in the appropriate input box alongside the item(s) that you want to alter - to delete just alter the quantity to 0, and then hit the Re-Calculate button, and the new list will appear.

To add items, you will see a button on the right hand side of the page that says Continue Shopping. Hit this button, which will return you to the product page where your existing selections will be re-populated into their respective places so that you will not have to remember what you have already selected, and you may now make new selections. Where do I select my FREE gift(s) ?

The free gift selector and the packaging selector, is near the top of the page on which you add your name and address details. The free gift selector you will find in a red panel with a drop-down for your selection.

If you qualified but made no selection, you would have been allocated one or more by default according to your level of qualification. The best solution in the event that you missed it and want to change, would be to ring the free-phone number: 0800 0282875, quoting your order number, and the girls may be in time to make the switch for you.

What are the carriage charges ?

For all UK orders, Isle on Mann, Channel Islands, over £16.95, carriage and packing is free. Orders under this amount are charged a nominal £1.00.

Why do I sometimes lose all the items in my shopping cart ?

First of all, this should not happen, but there are various reasons why this sometimes does.
  • If you click on the Continue Shopping button on the collection page more than once, you may find that you have deleted the items because you have gone back too far in the process. Clicking it once takes you back to the last page position, twice will take you back to the position before that etc, so your browser may lose the memory of your last - or last few selections. The web is not a perfect place, and sometimes it takes a little while for your Service provider to reconnect you to where you were, so you may have to be patient - just click once.

  • If for some reason you get disconnected from the web such as by receiving a telephone call while you are on-line, you may have to hit the Refresh button to return to the current page. If you are on the Shopping Page, this means that you will come back as a new user and be given a new shopping cart, and your old one will have been lost. You can avoid this by, instead of hitting the refresh button, go to the Go to Check-out at the bottom of the page, and your selections may be remembered and re-connect you to the Collection page intact. You can then hit the Continue Shopping button to safely return to the Shopping page.

  • If you have selected a product from the Front - Home page, and then hit the Back button on your browser to get back to the Front - Home page to make another selection, your first selection will have been lost. This is because you are allocated a shopping cart each time you enter the Shopping page, so if you enter a second time, you will now have a new cart, and your old one will be lost.

If you want to make more than one selection from the Home page, when you make you first selection, make a note of the product numbers of the other items that you want, and once on the Shopping page, find these other products from the Quick Finder at the top left of the page, and avoid losing your earlier items.

How can I enquire about the products ?

On the Home Page, and on the main catalogue page, there is a link to the Healthnotes website, which details which products may benefit you and how they will affect your body metabolism. The information is available by product name, or by ailment as well as a news page of latest information.

After reading all the data on the information pages, you may still have queries that are un-answered. If that is the case, we will help you if we can by emailing to [ sarah@zipvit.co.uk ]. Please add Web Enquiry in the subject line of your email so that we can recognise where you have come from.

How do I Search for products ?

If you know your product code number, then there is a Quick Finder index in the left hand margin below the main index on the Catalogue page, which lists all the products in numerical order. These are 'Hot Links' to the products on the page. When you have selected an item, hit the 'Return to Product Index' button that occurs every five products down the page, and you will be reurned to the top for another selection.

The products on the catalogue page are arranged by product type and accessible either by scrolling down the page, or by hitting one of the selection buttons from the main index at the top of the page. Under this selection process, as by numerical selection as described above, you may select as many items in one go as you wish without having to 'Add to Basket'. Only do this when all your selections are made, then hit one of the 'View Shopping Cart' buttons.

At the top of the main Catalogue Page, there is an index of products that links to a search facility that will bring up a shortened catalogue page that includes only those items which have been selected. If you find what you are looking for by this method, you will have to select the item or items that you want from this page, and then hit the 'Add to Basket' button before returning to the main catalogue page, otherwise your selection will not be recorded.

What is the Quick Order programme all about ?

You will see the Quick Order buttons immediately below the main 'Online Shopping' button on the Home Page.

We have introduced this ordering process as a result of feed-back from customers who want a quick method of re-ordering without having to search for product down the long list. This page has few images to download, and is presented in catalogue [Numerical] or Alphabetical order to minimise download time. If you have ordered before from this site, your last order will have been 'remembered' provided that you are cookie enabled, and the page will be ready populated with your last order, and these items will be highlighted with a red background to the quantity input box.

You are at liberty to add extra items if you wish, or even to delete previous selections simply by replacing the quantity with a '0'. Once you have hit the 'Check-out' button and moved to the Collection Page, - if you hit the 'Continue Shopping' button, you will be returned to the original shopping page although your current selections will have been remembered.

Why do I have to give my email address and telephone number ?

We need your email address because under the Distance Selling Regulations, we are required to send you an acknowledgment of order stating the total that you have spent, and at the same time, we send you contact information so that should your delivery become delayed for any reason, or in the event that you may wish to make an adjustment to your order, you have a method of getting in touch with us.

We have resorted to asking for telephone numbers for the 1% of customers who get their address wrong, or in fact the people who genuinely get their 16 figure credit card number wrong, and there are people out there who do get it wrong, so what we are looking at here is simply back-up. Your telephone number is not used for any other purpose.

All we want to do is to secure a speedy delivery when people have taken the trouble to place an order and pay money for goods. The problem is that in the past, when we have hit a wrong address, it has taken so much time to try and trace a customer, that this seemed the simplest solution. When we are talking speedy - it sometimes takes customers a week before they check their email inbox and reply to a query, so we decided that the old fashioned telephone was the answer.
